To install a clarinet reed, follow these steps: 1) Soak the thin end of the reed in your mouth or in a container of water; 2) Lay the flat side of the reed on the flat side of the mouthpiece; 3) Carefully place the ligature over the reed; 4) Ensure the tip of the mouthpiece is almost perfectly even with the tip of the reed; 5) Adjust the reed by the sides with your thumb, but do not touch the tip; 6) Tighten the screws firmly to secure the ligature, but not too tight.

Warm tips: 1) New reeds are relatively dry and hard, so they should be soaked in cold water for about 2 minutes before use. Prepare a few reeds for easy replacement, which can extend the life of the clarinet reeds. 2) Be cautious when installing or handling the reed, as a broken or curved tip will render it unusable. 3) After each use, gently wash the reed with water, absorb the remaining water with paper, and store it in the case in a well-ventilated area.

Note: 1) Spots on the reeds do not affect their usability. These spots are formed when dew gathers on the parts of the reeds not covered by leaves and then dries in the sun.
